If you're planning a trip to Niagara Falls, these things you should to know firstly. Some things you can do in Niagara Falls, and know different types of attractions here. Useful travel tips here for you:
Worth The Visit
We visited for 2 days with our relatives, a young Canadian family, on Sunday/Monday. It seemed that the weekends get very busy there, and would suggest trying to visit weekdays if your kids are not in school. The parking is cheaper and crowds less. Accommodation costs less during the week.
There is plenty to do and older kids will be attracted to the side show type activities. We avoided these but still found plenty to do in 2 days by walking around town. There are lots of fantastic photo opportunities. Good variety in restaurants and cuisines and food was not expensive.
Recommend the Maid in the Mist cruise up to Horseshoe fall for adults and teenagers, young kids would get too wet and could get anxious.
There are lots of picnic areas, think the top of the Falls park where there are views of the rapids before the drop is the nicest. Suggest getting takeaway food or BYO picnic, I didn't see any BBQ facilities.
Amazing Natural Wonder
This should be on everyone's bucket list. Maybe not more then a day, but the power of the falls on many levels make it a must do trip. With a family, stay a few days to do some of the many nearby attractions. You should not be disappointed if like to spend some family time making memories.
Destination for All Seasons
Since my first visit in the 50's Niagara Falls has always been worth the visit. Attractions constantly pop up or are rejuvenated giving the falls a new feel every time you visit. Every season has it's charm. So no matter when you visit you will never regret it. Great for kids, adults, indoor or outdoor events.
