Great overview and orientation of the city
Hop on the comfortable coach for the drive to Washington,DC,for this daylong trip to the nation’s capital.
On the drive there, learn from your knowledgeable guide about the history of the city, about how it was designed to perfectly straddle the south and the north, thus being in neutral geographical territory.
Once in the capital, stroll around the Mall, taking in the Vietnam War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and gawking at Capital Hill where the United States Congress meets.Stop by 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, home to POTUS,better known as the President of the United States.
See Arlington National Cemetery where over 200,000 soldiers have been buried since the Civil War.And spend some time at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum where history and technology blend together to make for a fascinating afternoon.
And then enjoy the leisurely ride back to New York City having enjoyed the day in the capital.
You'll do't need to go quite quickly and very smoothly in this itinerary. The bus trip was fine and you'll have a nice little stop for food around half way.Our guide was a lovely lady who was very entertaining. We had the perfect weather although in Winter and Washington did not disappoint.Arlington cemetery was very moving and it was great to see the White House etc.We went to the Indian museum which was OK but the food was terrible so try and avoid eating here. The space museum was very interesting and worth a visit.Entry was free which was very nice.
