Answer for a question from a reader:

Q:Is it better to go to Niagra Falls from Boston or New York?

A:It's about a seven hour drive each way from either NYC or Boston, much too far for a day trip.If you want to make a road trip out of it,there are interesting things on the way from either. From Boston there's Sturbridge Village and the Berkshires, from NYC there's the Catskills and the Finger Lakes. You can fly nonstop from Boston to Buffalo for$123 for a day trip if you book reasonably far ahead, from JFK for$150 or LaGuardia for$165.So do whichever is more convenient.
