Millennium Park

One of the best things to do while in Chicago is to visit Millennium Park. This great park draws in many locals and visitors alike with its lush gardens, beautiful trees, but also great artwork. The famous Crown Fountain which displays 1,000 faces of Chicago on LED displays is particularly popular especially with kids who love splashing around there in the summertime. The Bean is also a popular attraction in the park. It's a big bean-shaped sculpture which reflects the city and anyone around it. There's also a free ice skating rink in the wintertime. If you're visiting during the summer, be sure to catch the many performances that take place all summer long at Millennium Park.

Navy Pier

Not far from Millennium is Navy Pier, another great place to catch outdoor shows and is full of family fun, entertainment and attractions. Take a ride on the famed Chicago Ferris Wheel, carousel or Wave Swinger, or hop on a boat cruise from Navy Pier to experience Chicago from the water. There are so many great things to do at Navy Pier, the Amazing Chicago Funhouse Maze is particularly fun.

When traveling to Chicago, be sure to visit the Art Institute of Chicago. This great museum features famous artwork from Rembrandt and other less known artists. Charlie Trotter's restaurant by the same name is also one of Chicago's gastronomic gems. Located on Armitage Avenue, this venue continuously gets rated both nationally and internationally. It is often viewed as one of the finest restaurants in the world and has accumulated ten James Beard Foundation awards. Chef Charlie Trotter offers three tasting menus; all made from the purest seasonal ingredients and each dish prepares you for the next. This is one restaurant you won't want to miss.
